Wally ends the year as the Champion of the American Stock Car Racing Association (ASCRA). There are banquet photos in the ASCRA section. This is his 3rd championship.

He competes in 2 Nascar Grand National events at Darlington and Langhorne. He is fast qualifier at Darlington for the 1st Southern 500. He starts on the pole at Langhorne.
